Nearly 21 Billion Connected Devices Anticipated by 2020

According to consulting firm Gartner, the number of connected devices worldwide – 6.4 billion this year – will more than triple by 2020. The firm forecasts that nearly 21 billion objects, from light bulbs to cars, and HVAC systems to hospital devices, will be connected to the internet in the next four years.

Smart home technology that before could only be imagined on the big screen is now at our fingertips, giving us the power to improve our lives, and the lives of those we care for. The open platform design of genusConnect™ gives users access to resources like these ones in order to paint a fuller picture of care.

Users of the app will be able to monitor their loved ones in ways never thought possible. Imagine not just checking in on mom or dad, but checking to make sure their doors and windows are closed, monitoring what time they get out of bed or whether they’ve left the stove on.
